The Last....for the time being!

One last Tasman National Park view before I move along to the next location on our recent Tasmania trip....those cliffs are the highest in the Southern Hemisphere!

Standing Tall

One of the most iconic views of the amazing coastal scenery of Tasman National Park is the two incredible free-standing pillars of rock...the Candle Stick and the Totem Pole. Both are highly sought after by rock climbers...in the second image here you can see a happy couple as they made it to the top (this is from one of our previous Tasmania trips). As you can see the view from water level is totally different!

Lonesome Warrior

Still on the Tasman National Park boat tour, I managed to catch this lone seal perched high up on the rocks. It makes you wonder just how they get themselves up so high above the water.....

In The Distance

Whilst I'm sure most people on the Pennicott Boat Cruise we did alongside the cliffs of Tasman National Park would probably have preferred a clear blue sky day, I was more than happy with the dark, moody clouds that we had.....and hard to believe it had been 37 degrees the previous day! 
This image shows the dramatic rock formations of Cape Raoul in the far distance, a location we had hiked to a couple of days earlier on one of those clear blue sky days.

Island Haven

Todays Tassie treat continues our journey along the coast of Tasman National Park, where the colour of this small island was in stark contrast to the spectacular cliffs.
