After the Opening

We had the Official Opening of Liquid Gold on Sunday afternoon, and a big crowd was in attendance. Great feedback from everyone in attendance, and the new style presentation of my images went over very well. There are 2 other FOTO Biennale exhibitions in place at the Gold Museum so a visit is well worth it...especially to Christian Pearson's Melbourne "Art of the Underground" series.
As you can tell from the last few days posts, I haven't ventured too far from home and once again on Sunday after the opening I made a quick visit to Lake Wendouree to capture a few images....and nice to see the moon is almost full again!

Signs of Spring

Though the weather has been pretty harsh lately here in Ballarat, there are definite signs of spring around. Plenty of blossom starting to appear, and daffodils everywhere you look!
I've also posted a couple of images from recent local trips that I didn't want to be forgotten.

Wild Seas

By todays title you would almost imagine I was posting images from our last trip to Hawaii, when we got to see some massive, wild seas along the coast. But our generally placid Lake Wendouree here in Ballarat was hit with some massive, wild winds on Friday, and after running around the lake (much of it on the spot!) mid afternoon, the first thing I did when I got back home was to jump in the car and drive up to the lake to grab some of the wildness at View Point. I had to shelter behind a tree to get these, there was no possibility of holding the camera still without some protection, and the spray was flying all over. And that Liquid Gold image here would have made it into the new exhibition if I'd captured it a week ago! After hundreds of visits to Lake Wendouree, its great to come home with something completely new.

Liquid Gold

With the Liquid Gold Exhibition opening on Saturday, this image from Lake Wendouree on Thursday evening really captures the feel of the title. Make sure you come along, its on for at least 5 weeks.

The Two Mounts

Out west on Wednesday and some great light lit up Mt Misery and Mt Ercildoune. Make sure you click on this for a larger look!

Some More Flowing Water

After Sunday's great trip down to Waterfall Way, I figured the waterfall off the end of St Georges Lake at Creswick might be in action again. This is another spot I had visited not too long ago that was totally dry. Not as much flow as Sunday, but sill enough to give me some action to work with amongst the rocks.

Getting Ready

I spent most of Monday at the Gold Mueseum at Sovereign Hill, setting up for this years Ballarat International Foto Biennale. I'm exhibiting in the Buckland Gallery which is in the entrance foyer area, and all day I watched the huge skies passing by, and thought it worth an image or two, and particularly in black and white. I left there just in time to catch the last light at Lake Wendouree.
The "Liquid Gold" Exhibition is looking great, still more set-up to do and you are all welcome to attend. Its focus is on the water I've been finding in the Central Highlands area...and there is a lot of it!
