It was around 7am six months ago that we arrived in Tasmania on the Spirit of Tasmania. A half an hour or so later and we had driven to our new home and the rest is history! So to celebrate here's a gallery of images that I've captured that haven't seen the light of day. There's quite a few, 50 or so in fact, so make sure you've got a cuppa at hand and take a journey through my new (photographic) life!
This Friday is 6 months since we landed in Tasmania and as you are aware I've taken a pic or two (!). So to celebrate on Friday I'm going to post a big collection of images that haven't seen the light of day. To get things going here's a couple more of Mt Roland from almost the same location, the first from yesterday morning and the second from from this morning.
I made my way up the face Track at Mt Roland again this morning and I think the wildflowers are even better than they were two weeks ago. The low lying cloud really added a nice atmosphere to the scene. And I found my Christmas tree there as well!
Whilst the last week hasn't been too exciting I've still managed to find a number of images worth sharing. I think my favourite is the drooling cow!
On Monday morning, very early, I made the hike up the Face Track to the top of the Mt Roland plateau. I had been planning to do it on Sunday however the pouring early morning rain suggested it may not be the best time to do it.
A couple of recent hikes to Mt Claude had shown me the wildflowers were looking pretty good and I was hoping to find some scoparia...described here...
The Tasmanian wilderness is the only place in the world you'll find the ferociously prickly plant known as scoparia (Richea scoparia). It forms dense thickets that few bushwalkers would want to be flung into.
