Baled Up at Burrumbeet

Just a couple of simple Friday evening images from a cruise around the Windermere/Burrumbeet area, out west of Ballarat. With the harvest in full swing right across the district the paddocks are filling with bales, and this wall of them created quite a strong composition. And then a quick stop at Lake Burrumbeet for a bit of water action in close.
And getting back to Thursday evening...a couple of images from Lake Wendouree of the very nice full moon.

Campbells Road

Another lovely foggy summer morning on Thursday had me scrambling to keep up with it all. I was in Campbells Road Yendon where I found plenty to keep me busy before and after the sunrise. A few aerials to start with where I finally captured some nice hay bales,  then I had great fun as the lingering fog amongst the trees created some fantastic images. And always nice to end with some sunrays through the tree branches!
And there was a pretty nice full moon at Lake Wendouree at sunset too....that will have to wait til later!

The Star of the Show

After the excitement of the foggy morn on Tuesday, Wednesday offered me a totally different morning with the sun the star of the show. At first I didn't think I was going to get much to work with as a low band of clouds on the horizon looked likely to stop much happening at sunrise, however the sun managed to break free with a spectacular golden glow. The first 2 here, from different spots a few kilometres apart, are out east of Yendon on the way to Mt Egerton. Pretty happy with this pair, as I was getting back towards the freeway at Warrenheip, this view of the sun cresting  a fog-capped Mt Warrenheip had me stopping again for a fantastic end to the mornings adventures.
And as for this morning......wow!

Burrumbeet Beauties

Here's a few more from Tuesday's great morning session at Lake Burrumbeet. As you can see I had some terrific conditions that gave me some fantastic images......including the stop at the old Burrumbeet pub on the way out, well before sunrise.
....and I still haven't got to the aerials!

On Its Own

On Tuesday morning the forecast of fog had me excited to see what I could find. A second visit within a week to this spot at Lake Burrumbeet paid big dividends. Though I have a lot of other great images from the morning, I wanted this one to have its own post. I really like the way the lingering fog has totally blocked out the background that usually shows the distant shoreline.

Looking Good

Some great calm conditions on Monday evening had me out around the Clarkes Hill area, Boundary Church Road to be precise. With a couple of irrigators pumping out the water, I captured a range of images of the vibrant new potato crops. I discovered last year how amazing the rainbows look from up high!
And this morning a quick peak from a foggy morning out around Burrumbeet...this is the old Burrumbeet Pub on the Freeway as a semi trailer goes roaring past - almost taking me with it! More to come from this great morning.

Duckscapes

Something a bit different today. I was running around Lake Wendouree here in Ballarat on Sunday morning (yes, it was hot!) and on the north side of the lake the reflection off the Ballarat Grammar boat shed was intense...and with a few ducks as well, it offered a chance to catch something a bit different to my usual landscapes. So I finished my run and grabbed the camera for this set.......and then I did another lap to finish off the run I had planned!
