Gold at Lake Burrumbeet

A trip out to Lake Burrumbeet on Monday afternoon was very rewarding - golden in fact! Here's a couple that might be considered for my upcoming Ballarat International FOTO Biennale exhibition in August titles "Liquid Gold". Stay tuned for more information!

Sunday Selection - Mt Warrenheip, and more

Out to Mt Warrenheip on Sunday afternoon, and came home with quite a range of different images...including some late colour just before I got home. It was very cold on the side of the mountain, first real taste of icy cold weather. The benefit is that these conditions keeps the air crystal clear. As I was driving home some really nice pink colours stared to develop. I didn't think I could make it back to Lake Wendouree in time so I was looking for other possibilities and as I was crossing the railway line in Macarthur Street I looked north up the tracks and noticed the nice reflected colour off the rail lines....certainly a bit different from another pink sunset at the Lake!

Super Saturday Sunrise

The title says it all....jumped out of bed when I saw some pink starting to light the horizon and raced up to Lake Wendouree for this colourful set. Pretty cold, too - minus 1 degrees! And I'm glad I did, because by mid afternoon it had turned grey again.

On The Way Home......

On Friday after my visit out at Bo Peep I came back around Lake Wendouree, and stopped to grabbed this view of the Ballarat Fly Fishers Club.

Bo Peeping

A great end to the week on Friday afternoon out at Bo Peep. I had a wander around in the paddocks above the creek and found some great mossy covered boulders catching great light off the golden setting sun, and then this front-on view of the small falls at the weir below. I reckon there's a lot more potential on this side of the creek, especially further back up stream. Now, if I can just find the sheep!

Way Out West and Way Up High

Thursday afternoon out around the Clarkes Hill area, always a great spot to view the western horizon, and an added bonus way up high. There were 2 of these (I think wedge tail eagles, please let me know if otherwise!) hovering briefly, always an impressive sight to see them flying around. Make sure you click on the panorama for a bigger look!

Some Flinders Island Sunrise Colour

Been pretty grey this week in Ballarat so I had to go find some sunshine...from my second trip down to Flinders Island, at Killiecrankie Bay.
